I ordered these heel guards because I was getting new calluses on the outside of each heel. The only thing I thought related was that I put a pillow under my knees to relieve leg cramps at night. I have noticed that my heels hurt at night which sometimes wakes me up. I tried to put a small pillow under my heels. The pillow often ended up on the floor. After wearing this heel guard for about a month, my calluses are gone and my heels don't hurt anymore. They are easy to put on and comfortable. They stay in place (I hardly move in my sleep). I haven't washed them yet. It's nice to find a simple solution to a serious problem.
