Shrinks a lot, ugly seams

All my ABC sheets and pads get smaller every time I wash them and I don't wash them in hot water. I don't know why ABC chose to sew the top and bottom of their sheets; Eventually, after several washes, they turn into unsightly lines, interrupting that puffy pattern. I have a NaturePedic mini crib mattress that feels slightly larger than the average mini crib mattress just because it has piping around the edges. The percale sheets woven by ABC as well as the organic mattress pads I have purchased are shrinking and cracking the corners of my very expensive mattress. Hey BBC, why not shrink the fabric before you sew those sheets and pads, or at least make them slightly larger to compensate for their inevitable shrinkage? And why not just get rid of that unsightly appearance? They only worsen the fit.
