Review on Totes Anniversary Section Close Plaid Umbrellas by Ellen Chase

First of all, I've been using Totes umbrellas since the 80's and love them, and I always buy snap-top models that fold up so I can slip them in the last pocket of any bag I love. I use. I've always thought they offered solid value for money and what I like best is the fact that Totes actually lives up to the 'lifetime' guarantee and the way it's made (see below ). I mention this replacement warranty policy because it improves the value of their umbrellas in general quite a lot: if your umbrella breaks over the years (and they do break in the wind, that's only life for a $15-25 umbrella), you They returned the entire umbrella to them along with $5 and they will send a replacement. Alternatively, you can wait until you have two broken umbrellas and ship them in a box for $10. I did this a few years ago and they have a new, better guideline: you just send (and hope you haven't ripped) a small style tag attached to one of the ribs AND you cut the end of the loop off the velcro closure and sent these two things back. It's simple and only worth the price of a brand. This saves the buyer money and time (to send the box back) and Totes doesn't have to worry about throwing away the useless umbrella. top-of-the-line and honestly look a bit cheap. The dome material is clearly a cut above regular totes nylon, and the ribs seem to stand up to the wind better than usual (or rather, the ribs snap better). Haven't gotten into strong winds yet so I'm not sure how much that will matter. However, as of this writing, Revain is $53 and I don't think the improvements are worth it unless you really like one of the color/pattern styles available. Yes, it comes in a nice box, and yes, it's 50 years old, though. is it important? Received this as a reviewer but given the ease of returning totes for a replacement I expect the price to come down soon.
