Incredibly tough jerrycan! I was so impressed with how thick and tough this is that I couldn't resist: I put it on its side and stood on it. It doesn't even budge! I'm 175lbs.The product is mainly a bacterial filter, it is not for heavy silt, polluted water or saltwater. Although you could put silty water in it and let it settle very carefully, you are risking using up the filter more quickly. There is an additional activated carbon filter available that will remove more minerals and contaminants (https://www.amazon.com/Purification-Jerrycan-Activated-Carbon-Replacement/dp/B09XWFL8H9). I imagine that carbon filter will be used up faster than the hollow fiber bacterial filter and so the can has two recessed areas with caps in which to store extra carbon filters. I'm thinking that those will be a wise purchase. It would be nice if the jerrycan came with one also. One thing to watch out for is that the setup has two small plastic tubes. One is to attach to the filter bottom to pull water from low in the can and the second is to extend the output spigot so that you can catch the filtered water. It would be easy to lose them. The can would still be usable but less convenient. Some of the product images show a long plastic tube but that is not included. The operation of the pump is simple. Overall, this is a great product for emergencies or camping.
