Like many others I saw warnings to order at least one size up so I ordered a size 14 although I usually go for a size 12. For reference: I'm 5ft 8in, 165-170. At the moment my tummy is a bit bloated from a recent surgery so I was even more worried that a size 12 wouldn't fit. Oh, it doesn't fit! As others have said, the tip does not "stretch". anything. it should be called "decorative cord" because that's really all it does. Even if the rope was too tight, I could still zip them up on the bottom of my thighs (I could zip them up almost completely, meaning they were likely to fall off when wet!) and the hips and legs weren't any better. . . I just store them and roll down the top to carry around the garden etc. (I threw these things away so I wouldn't have to return them). there are more than 12. Fit, cut, size etc. can even vary depending on the colour. I do not know. as for white. Don't take size up to 14 if you have 12. That's all I have. Oh, and a few photos, but that's all I have.
