As a newbie to audio or video equipment I found this mic and phone stand very easy to use, set up in seconds, the base is a stand on three legs, it is very strong and stays stable, if you want to record while moving, the three legs combine to form a strong carrying handle. Just above the base is the part that holds your phone. It attaches quickly and works when you extend the mount to place your phone in the landscape. It has a nice rubber silicone coating that ensures you don't scratch the phone while setting up and taking down. The mount is on a movable hinge that allows you to move the phone/recorder anywhere you need it. Microphone mount and microphone, it screws on top of the phone mount but can also be used with some camera models as the connection seems to be universal and the camera is pictured in the instructions. The microphone is plugged into your phone and should be detected automatically. IMPORTANT NOTE. This stand comes with jack sockets only. So if you have a phone without a jack, like the newer iPhones, you won't be able to use the microphone, but the stand should be fine. to buy another connection cable, but I haven't checked that. All in all it's a good kit easy to put together, I got it to take pictures of kids parties and take family photos for everyone to come in and also on weekends etc.
