First of all I have to tell you that my review will be mainly about the console, it's been almost a year since the release of Gears 3, so I'm sure most of you have already played it have and I liked it I want to buy this console firstly for its looks and secondly for the larger HD. I already have a 360S with a 250GB hard drive but there was an offer for it recently so I decided to sell it and buy a Gears console, check anyway. First, ports: the console has standard 360S ports, including 5 USB ports, two on the front and three on the back. A separate "Kinect Port" that supplies power to the device. The port is marked with an orange stripe across it. 1 Ethernet RJ45 port for wired internet connections, e.g. B. a direct connection to a router or modem. 1 HDMI port (HDMI cable NOT included). / Audio connector for 360S complete with cable. That's it for ports. Now its functions. The console comes with a built-in wireless Wi-Fi adapter, but unfortunately this adapter DOES NOT SUPPORT "N" NETWORKS. So if you have an N router you are pretty much left with one of two options, the obvious one i.e. Don't use N or buy an external Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter A/B/G & N Networks but WARNING the wireless adapter is made for the OLD Xbox 360 shell, you can still use it with the 360S , but you won can not attach it to the case console. In my opinion, the lack of an N-capable adapter in the 360S is a step backwards, since it's a special edition and all. HD, huge storage space for games, videos, etc. If you have 360S, you need to buy Xbox 360 hard drive transfer cable, suitable for both Slim and Older 360. The screen will prompt you to select broadcast / to HD or Console. This is very easy. Now for the look: Controller: Absolutely beautiful. They have been carefully painted, the famous Gears of War logo is on the right side, the red has a nice dark tint, like red wine. D-Pad is a cool feature, but not very useful; You can see that the D-Pad sticks out when flipped sideways, but the whole piece stays the same on the base/controller board. It also makes a "clicking" noise, but that can go away with age. The battery compartment is standard on other controllers and is black. So if you're using a Nyko: Xbox 360 Power Pak - Black battery, you shouldn't have any trouble matching it to the battery that came with those controllers. BTW, to use the above battery you also need a charger: Nyko Charge Base 360 S for Xbox 360, I have both and they work perfectly. Console. I didn't like it very much. The console does NOT match the color of the controller. It's at least 1-2 shades lighter. Not visible in the photo, but noticeable. The controllers have a nice dark red hue as mentioned above, well the console doesn't, it's more of a bright red, not too bright to ruin it but bright enough to make a contrasting difference between it and the controller see. As it is lighter you should also think about this before buying this console if your home theater is all black like mine where I have a PS3 black Wii and all black chargers etc everything inside is a dark cabinet ; This console sticks out like a sore thumb. From an aesthetic point of view, this can ruin the look of your system. So think again, of course if you don't care about such things then ignore what I just said. Don't get me wrong, the Gears of War logo and other graphics still look amazingly detailed and meticulously rendered. Custom sounds are okay, but not great. They only work when the console is MANUALLY powered on/off and the disc tray is opened/closed. Powerful sound is the best in my opinion. The sound of the tray is the same when opening and closing. I didn't notice the distortion mentioned by other players, so I can't complain about it. I don't know who decided that sounds should only work manually, but it doesn't make much sense, not at all. In conclusion, is this console worth the price tag of $350+? It depends. If you're a HUGE fan of the series then by all means buy this kit but I wouldn't pay more than $400 for it; The original price was $350 plus tax. So if you keep it under $400 it's still a good deal. You get 2 latest controllers with custom colors, a 320GB hard drive and a copy of one of the best games. If you're looking to upgrade back from an older model 360, that's a lot. A regular 250GB console will cost you $299 with a controller and no game. Think about the color of this console and whether or not you can live with it. If you already have a 360S with a 250GB hard drive but need a bigger hard drive it's just a matter of spending the extra money on this kit, if not you can simply upgrade your hard drive for a lot less than your Xbox 360 hard drive 320 GB .
