Excellent wide bright illumination. About 170 degrees. Excellent room coverage, although you need at least 2 to cover 2 sides for 360 degree coverage of anyone or objects in the room. It is clearly intended for permanent installation. There is no switch as it is expected to plug into a switched outlet or AC controller for control. Very solid construction and well-functioning heat sink. Although the radiator hits 70F at 160F in a cool room, I would question the outdoor durability if it's a hot summer night. I'll have to test in the summer to see if it gets over 160F. If it doesn't get hotter, you can run it in warmer rooms and outdoors. However, I would like to see a fan option for this amount of heat. I don't have a technical procedure to check the wavelength, but it is very responsive to UV light where it is not illuminated with violet light but causes a bright contrast on UV sensitive surfaces. It doesn't photograph my photos as well as my cell phone. But it's a really great UV wavelength range that allows you to have a dark room with only UV paint and clothing glowing brightly. A NOTICE. If this were a UV lamp designed primarily for portable use I would deduct 1 star for the lack of a power switch. But that's clearly not what it's designed for. You can still use it like a lamp, but it doesn't have a stand for that kind of use or a power switch.
