They keep me cooler than the standard cool packs that came with my cooling vest. I use them to extend the life of my cooling jacket. I place them next to me behind cool packs that maintain about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. With these freezer packs behind normal cool packs I get a total of 3 hours of cooling. I've had a few heat injuries but these packs freeze quickly, aren't bulky and provide 1/2-1 hour of extra cooling in hot weather.
