Review on DLO 009-0617 VideoShell for 5G iPods with 30GB, 60GB, and 80GB storage capacities by Julio Solano

I have mixed feelings about this case because it has some very positive aspects but also some negative aspects. Let's start with the positive things. The case is made of durable plastic that protects my 30GB iPod very well. I haven't had any scratching issues on my iPod as other reviewers have noted, even with the insert added. The openings for the locking switch, headphones and jack on the underside are generously sized and offer enough space to be able to access them if necessary. The kickstand is a useful feature, especially on a plane or at a desk. Now about the cons - in fact, there is only one minus, but it's a big one. The case falters! I'm actually quite surprised other reviewers didn't mention this. I don't think my case is unique as this is the second case I've bought. I assumed I got a defective version the first time, but I liked the case so much I bought it again. It's been about a year and a half with the new case, but it's also falling apart! The body consists of front and back parts that are connected to each other. The problem is that when you use the stand and want to reposition it to close the iPod case, the hinge pushes the front panel forward. After sufficient use, the two parts are separated and can only be reassembled by gluing. Once released, the coaster stand also releases and opens and closes instead of staying closed all the time. I have now wrapped a large rubber band around the whole case to hold it together until I can buy a new case. I would also add that I didn't use the stand very often (about 2-3 times a month). I like this case (bought twice) and it has good features but I think I'll switch to a stand. a clear case that does not open. While it's handy, I haven't used the kickstand feature that much as it's only really useful when you're watching videos. Hope that helps!
