I bought these 50/100/150w LED bulbs to replace some of the dimmer bulbs (40/60/100w equivalent) in our living room. I wanted a little more brightness on the highest settings and they nailed it! Based on another reviewer's comments, I was concerned about excessive heat in the base but found they just felt warm in both the base and ball portion. Good. The portion of the sphere or lamp was significantly larger (maybe 20% larger!) than my lower wattage lamp, which was surprising, but luckily there were no issues fitting into my lamp. Also, they're a bit pricey at nearly $10 each, but I expect they'll pay for themselves over time. My original 3-strip bulb, while slightly brighter than these newer LED bulbs, got so hot at 150 watts that the filament didn't last very long and I noticed that the pins in the sockets were slightly damaged. (it's hot now!), which requires less frequent but much more inconvenient replacement of the outlet itself.
