I really liked this light. I had it for about a month and one day it didn't work so I figured it needed charging. After sitting on the charger all night, I grabbed it and put it in my pocket. When I tried to use it, it didn't come. Upon further examining and removing the battery, I found that the plastic around the pin had melted, as I can assume it was from the heat from the lights being on. Because of this, the pen lost contact with the battery when charging or turning on. I'm not sure if overheating is an issue. I'm a mechanic and I use the flashlight almost every day for a long time. I've never seen it get hot enough to melt plastic. Unfortunately that has happened because it no longer works, other than being a truly amazing flashlight.
