Socrata Open Data API is the free and open-source API that allows the integration of their platform with the rest of the services, in this case, with the Salesforce.In the case of the Salesforce integration, the integration is really simple, you are able to quickly integrate the platform and you don’t need to deal with the API documentation. The free version is a little bit limited, in the sense that you don’t have the access to 100 datasets out of the 8,000 that the organization provides. The API documentation is really simple and intuitive, it’s really a simple and intuitive API that allows you to have a really good integration. The platform provides a really simple and intuitive access to the datasets and allows you to integrate it with a platform that you already have. Easy to use for non technical users as well as data scientists who are familiar with R or Python. The best feature is that it can be used from within Microsoft Excel. There's nothing I dislike about this product so far! We're able to extract insights using standard statistical methods in our R scripts without having to learn new tools. It has been very useful to us since we have several employees not proficient in coding languages to create reports based on public data sets.
