I have several Raspberry Pis that I have scattered everywhere. If they're new, you'll need to set them up, usually with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. A regular desktop monitor is inconvenient to carry around, especially when you need to debug a Pi that you've placed somewhere other than your desk. This is a very good small HDMI monitor that is very easy to move around. All you need for power is a micro USB power adapter. I didn't use the touchscreen feature so I can't comment on that aspect.
