I've used these to protect some of my cherries and blueberries from birds and squirrels who haven't had the problems ripping the fiber bags I've tried in the past. The material is a bit brittle and tends to splinter where I cut to accommodate the branches. However, it is difficult to tear and is otherwise quite solid. It also appears to be UV resistant (for at least a month). I've used clamshell clips to keep the squirrels from ripping them apart, but they seem to stay closed pretty well on their own if you're not worried about animals getting in. I've seen heavier packaging material for some baked goods, but they're just as durable as many similar products you'll find at the average grocery store.
