Leak on first use

even on vacation. Received it a few days before departure so didn't have time to test it, just unboxed and put in luggage. Upon arrival at the resort on the first day we read all the instructions, inserted the battery and SD card and closed the device as instructed. Checked that everything is sealed and ready to use. Walked out of the room into the pool and lit it, ready for the first test shots. Since the camera is underwater my first thoughts are what are those little bubbles coming out of the lens area. Of course it fills with water. Now this isn't even part of the camera, which is unserviceable for the user, it isn't, and I repeat, somewhere near the opening of the camera flap where the battery or SD card is located. If you look at the camera in the photos, this is the round part of the lens barrel. If you hold it underwater, you'll see tiny bubbles coming out of that area. Within 2 minutes of using this camera for the first time, the entire round lens is filled with water. If you leave it upside down, all the water will eventually run out. From that moment on, however, it remains foggy and unusable for photography. Perhaps this is the unhappiest purchase of recent years. It was bought specifically for this holiday and we never took a picture with it. Maybe we just got a bad one, but we give it back because the vacation is over.
