I bought this for a litter box hoping my dog wouldn't get in there and that it would look better than a tray. It's cheap and easy to assemble, but it didn't fit in my litter box. It says it will fit a standard sized litter box which I thought was mine, but it wouldn't close when I had the lid on the box and then tried to just put the bottom bowl in without the lid , the rim of the bowl was halfway up the hole in the door and the cats couldn't get in. You need a very small tray for this to work, in which case I think the litter will be pretty messy. I ended up just using it as a cat bed indoors and putting a litter box on top to keep my dog away from it.
