Because the baby started crawling very early, we were looking for playpens for the home, especially for work areas like the attic and living room. I wouldn't have been able to put it together as quickly as my husband, it took him a while to get it done but relatively quickly. It's a pretty decent size for our son and easily fits some toys, my almost 5 year old keeps climbing in it and enjoys playing house. I think it works because he has fun and can play there with his little brother. It's not soft, but we have a rug in the attic so it's soft enough for a toddler, but I don't think it's a good idea for hardwood floors. Another thing is that this playpen is not portable, we don't need to move it, but if you plan to move it around the house, I don't think this is the best option. It's definitely big and the kid can move and play while we work, so having a spacious and safe playpen next to us is a big plus. The mesh is pretty decent and you can see through it with no problems. For us personally, who have rugs and don't need a wearable device, it works great, but if you need those features then it might not be the best option for you.
