I bought this cable to run my Ryzen 3800x with an ASUS ROG Strix X570 motherboard. It has an 8+4 EPS power input for the CPU, and I only had an 8-pin EPS cable (always save the extra cables that come with the PSU). While the 3800x performed well at stock speeds in games and benchmarks with a single 8-pin power connector, I've heard that voltage stability issues can arise when overclocking. I don't know how much I believe that as a single 8 pin EPS delivers 235W while the 3800x is rated for 105W when boosted. However, there is no harm in plugging in an extra cable. highlighted.
