Review on ๐Ÿฅฆ Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver Food Storage Containers Set, 4-Piece Set with 2 Containers and 2 Lids by John Ramsey

Like a mini crisp for berries, veg and small veggies

I bought one of these, then a full set, then a second set. They work. It's not magic and it's not particularly difficult. Basically, there are several things that make these containers suitable for fruit and herbs. Each has a perforated green plastic tray at the bottom that elevates food above any liquid that settles on the bottom and allows air to enter. It's not very tall and can be annoying if it falls out, but it's effective. Second is the venting in the lid which allows some airflow to keep the inside from getting too humid and keeps them from drying out which would happen if they were placed in the fridge without the lid. It's unregulated, which is probably a good thing. Most low-moisture foods are too large for containers like apples, pears, and melons. They designed air vents for foods with higher moisture content, such as berries, leafy greens, asparagus, and herbs. The best thing you can do to keep your groceries safe other than these containers is to put them in the fridge. as soon as possible after your purchase. The longer they sit in a warm environment, like on a commute or on a countertop, the faster they spoil. Washing them is good for your health, but it doesn't extend their lifespan. A wash-off product is best, but you can also use a solution of three parts water and one part vinegar to wash them off and kill some fungi and bacteria. These containers aren't magic, but they are better than the original berry containers. and it's a lot better than just loosely wrapping them in the plastic bag they came in and hoping for the best. They also stack well if you have enough headroom between shelves. Ultra clear Tritan plastic instead of the standard translucent plastic. Maybe they will in the future. Recommended. Sean Logue, 2017
