The ability for me as an individual user within my team has allowed us access into our own data without having any IT support required from another department or outside vendor! This also allows all users to have full control over their information themselves which means they can be trusted with it more easily than if we were relying upon other people's knowledge/experience etc. I don't think there are many downsides at this point - just make sure everyone knows how to set up profiles correctly so no one gets left behind when someone else moves away!! We've been able to really customise what each person sees by using different profile types (eg project manager vs sales rep) but still keep everything under 1 roof with ease & safety through security groups.
