The first thing my kids will say when they see this assembled is "why does my desk look like a toy but feel like it Don't you like it?” My parents wanted to buy one for my son for his new virtual classroom earlier this year, but the looks made me think it was cheap, so I bought a kid's chair instead (both chairs were already broken, by the way). When I saw this for sale I bought it for my parents house and my husband and I were very surprised at how durable it is. The plastic is very thick while the metal is thick and heavy. The handles are very easy to use for my 4 and 5 year old and were easy to switch from side to side once we realized we had the handle secured to the wall. All the adjustable parts are easy enough for my 5 year old to do on his own. The only thing I would have liked would have been more space to store his books and supplies on the bottom or sides.
