Review on Pavlok Mindfulness Vibrating Silent Trainer by Jacob Schmidt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for what I need and more.

I needed this device to train my brain to stop vices. I needed a device with buttons that could trigger taps (or clicks, as Pavlok calls it) when I needed them. This device has 3 buttons (conveniently on the side) that can be configured to trigger one of 3 feedbacks (vibrate, beep or click) a selected number of times (max 5 clicks). I only use this for clicks, so I have no feedback on the beep and vibrate features. I don't know if it's recommended to get electrocuted when wet, so I take it off when I shower. I can also confirm that for some reason this device does not work on metal detectors! I go through metal detectors every day and pick them off (I thought they would go off because of the metal, yes) but when I forgot about them one day, they didn't go off. I don't shoot anymore I really like that every time you press the button the impact time is different. It's not always instant, so you can't predict exactly when it will hit (it all happens within a second). The next shocks (if you program more than one shock) will be spaced evenly so you can anticipate them. Battery was at 100% when first put on and now four days later with moderate daily use at 60%.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Vulgarity
