Review on SmallRig Selection Tabletop Portable Projector by Jim Velasco

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unconventional quality Smallrig

Updated review (09/17/2021): The ball head that I liked the most on this set broke. In particular, the mounting screws on the underside of the base continue to be pulled out. renders useless. If you're using this for a camera phone, it works. One more thing? Stay away. 2 stars. Original Review (July 2, 2021): It's good for what it is, but I never expected a Smallrig product to be anything but good. I'm used to strong gear like their cages, clamps, handles etc. I've used such a flexible tripod and I definitely like it better than the more expensive Joby models, but its use is also limited as it can't withstand a lot of weight either. My favorite part of this kit is the ball head that can carry a mirrorless camera with a not-so-heavy lens and hold it in place. I think the pack is mainly intended for use on smartphones, so I'm going to push the limits a bit. But then again, that's what I expect from Smallrig products. Not this one. Okay, but set your expectations accordingly.

Pros
  • 360° rotating tripod head
Cons
  • old
