Good eye protection with some comfort limitations. Valuable purchase.

These are the goggles you remember from going into the carpentry shop in high school. Simple design with many ventilation holes to prevent fogging. I still remember their usefulness for eye protection. Working on the farm is currently the reason for using these glasses. Invisible leaves and branches, bugs and flying trimmer debris are the main causes I need some protection from. Ski goggles are worn over goggles and sunglasses, and the clear lenses provide good forward vision. Vinyl sides don't offer unobstructed side visibility, of course, but that's not a big issue unless you plan to ride in them. Do not do that! The bridge of the nose is not padded and becomes uncomfortable when wearing glasses for a long time. I get around this problem by wearing them higher on my cheeks, avoiding pressure on the bridge of my nose. The saddle can be bent and broken with a slight flex to improve comfort. Vinyl construction allows for an easy fit to your face. They should fit comfortably those with an oval or slightly wide face. The pressure on the face is regulated with elastic straps stretched on the sides of the goggles. If you have a very wide face, the straps may not be long enough for your height. Clear plastic lenses can be washed in water and dish soap, then dried with a clean terry cloth or microfiber towel. The lens will be scratched if handled carelessly or wiped with a dusty/rough cloth. Good value for money. Better performing glasses cost at least twice as much.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
