Review on Military Grade DEYACE Tactical Magnetic Quick Release: Unparalleled Efficiency and Reliability by Tim Crowder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great belt for relaxing. Easy to shorten if necessary. NOTE: ONLY SOME MODELS ARE STRETCH

This is a very comfortable belt. It holds pants while walking and is comfortable while sitting. My old harness was either too tight when seated (thanks, beer belly) or too loose when standing, but both work without adjustment. Pair with Duluth Trading's Incogchinos stretch jeans for a great work-from-home and off-duty combo. They're pretty flexible. My size is 24-38" and it stretches from 44" to 60" which is almost 50% stretch. Judging by the negative reviews this is definitely the minus as well as you won't find anything heavy in it (e.g. tools, firearms.) True, but that also makes it convenient enough that it's worth it.However, the belt is a bit awkward to thread through the belt loops, so getting the pants on and off takes longer than a regular belt. You either have to fight it or remove the buckle from the belt and then put it back on.However, it's so cheap that I decided to just buy a few and keep them on the pants I'm wearing most wear. The maximum width of the metal buckle is 1.9" if you want to compare it to the loop size for your belt. The buckle design is probably not as elegant as the Groove belt, but come on, it costs a fourth l of the price. The magnetic closure works perfectly, nothing special. A true latch is a mechanical hook that is inserted into the slot and the magnet is only there to prevent accidental unhooking. . You can cut it with scissors and fuse the polyester fibers with a lighter to keep them from unraveling. You can see they did just that at the factory, they just melted the raw edge. If it's a bit battered after the fusion, just fuse the stragglers a little more. UPDATE: I've ordered another one, this time a tactical V-ring model, and it doesn't stretch at all. Zero elasticity, just a standard nylon webbing. No problem, just not quite what I expected. It's probably a lot better for carrying tools and stuff, but not as comfortable as the stretchy versions. The clasp is also a bit wobbly. Many of these tactical belts have two buckle eyes that must be squeezed together to release. This one has them too, but they're fake, just protrusions molded in plastic. Instead, you open it by tugging on a small drawstring, which is odd. I think it does the job. Looking at the strap of the webbing, I can say that all models with a V-ring and a plastic buckle are unlikely to be elastic. But there are those with a square metal buckle.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
