I received this on Friday 3/20/20 so I only had it 3 days and used it once. I bought this cable to use with my existing MiniDisplayPort to HDMI cable (another brand) so I can connect my work MacBook Air to my iMac at home. Now I work from home and wanted a bigger screen. I only plugged it in for maybe two minutes while looking for another cable and immediately I could smell the chemical burn odor. I'm fortunate that both of my computers are still perfectly fine (the MacBook actually ran out of power from overcharging). More importantly, I'm glad I didn't have a small fire on my hands in my apartment!
