I put this glass on the D3000 camera to replace the ordinary 18-55 VR, and I don't take it off. I took it to replace the regular lens. The picture is sharp, and the focal length is appropriate; the focus is not lightning quick, but it does not drag either:) For the price point, Nikon offers what I believe to be the most compelling solution for the DX format currently available. Picture taken here: Got pros: 1. A large aperture of f1.8, resulting in fast shutter speeds and pleasing "bokeh" 2. The number of lenses that have back focus is far lower in comparison to, for example, the 50mm 1.4G AF-S, making it simple to select a regular lens. 3. Sharp, you can shoot continuously from 1.8, but HA are of course significant (occasionally the lens hood helps, but I note that it only helps sometimes), and they are less obvious while shooting with f/2.8. 4. High-resolution glass with a f4 maximum aperture. Its glass achieves a better result in this parameter than, for example, such serious lenses as the Nikkor AF-S 85mm 1.8G and the AF 85mm 1.4D, although it is slightly less effective than the AF 85mm 1.4G (further information may be found on photAmazon.de). 5. Having a tiny footprint and being lightweight. Some cons: In all practical respects, no; the only issue is that every single one of them has a little bit of play on the focus ring; nevertheless, this can be overlooked given the reasonable price and excellent optical features.
