The fan on this mask works in reverse compared to other air purifying masks. No mask completely seals a person's face. By sucking air out of the mask, a negative pressure is created in the mask. This will pull contaminants (and viruses) into the mask through the edges of the mask. I prefer the opposite. A mask that creates positive pressure by forcing filtered HEPA air into the mask to ensure you're breathing filtered (and cool) outside air, and pushes out pollutants from inside the mask.
