Review on πŸ’Ύ PNY 16 GB microSDHC Flash Memory Card: High Performance Storage Solution P-SDU16G10-GE by Mario Beaklini

Great for HD pocket camcorders / Base Class 10 (PNY 16GB)

This *IS* a *PNY 16GB* review (ignore Revain's random image). This worked great for my Philips CAM150RD Pocket HD camcorder. Not all SD cards are created equal. You must ensure that you meet both the (1) minimum class required and (2) the minimum MB/s required for your particular use. As a Class 10 base card that has no more than the minimum required to meet the Class 10 spec, this works great. But judging by other reviews, don't expect more. But as long as it meets the requirements for your purpose, it should be great. Read the user manual, such as HD video recording speed at different quality settings, and buy the appropriate card. My Sony HDR-CX160 HD camcorder says it needs a Class 10 card, but it also lists the write speed for various HD video quality settings, which is around 24MB/s, which this card doesn't do when I do it do. Don't use lower quality settings. But my pocket HD camcorder Philips CAM150RD does not make any special demands either in terms of class or the transfer rate of MB/s. So I think it's not important enough for a pocket camcorder to make a claim. I think it's a very good idea to use at least class 10 for any HD video. My pocket camcorder records to more compressed files, so I figured a base class of 10 was good enough. I think you should at least go for a big brand like Pny. He has done an excellent job for this. But it looks like you shouldn't expect more. I bought the regular 16GB package directly from Revain. It arrived very quickly in perfect condition and was a genuine card. The adapter is nice, but you don't really need it unless you want to use it in a standard card reader, e.g. B. when transferring files between a device that accepts a micro SD and another that accepts a standard SD. Or maybe you just want to speed up booting with a USB 3.0 memory card reader and your device only directly supports a USB 2.0 cable. I prefer to just leave the card and use a USB 2.0 cable to download videos from my device.
