My 8 year old daughter has no problem with it. This is a great way for her to play with her older siblings as she can throw the ball just as far as the older kids. It is not easy to find an activity that allows children from the age of 8 to adults to play together without obstacles. So far this has worked great. I told the kids not to drag the ball further than where the head meets the handle (I can actually keep the ball there by holding the handle with my thumb, thus launching the ball with one hand). This gives a good range of 40-50 feet, good for some tricky catches and a few tricks. Let's see how long the strips last with this approach.
