I bought these pads in black so I wouldn't look gross with how much makeup I'm removing and not worry about removing makeup stains. My makeup has shimmer so I can see it on it but that's not a problem. I use coconut oil every night to remove makeup, they are gentle and work great. The included mesh bag is very easy to wash. I don't recommend washing them bagless unless you count how many things go in the washer first. They penetrate into the smallest spaces and get lost or become coarse. If you use a front loading washing machine, they tend to slip into the inner rim during a wash cycle and suck up any dirt that gets in there. So use a pouch :) I can't stress this enough.
