After carefully measuring our bitch according to the instructions, she was wearing a size 12 sweater on the neck but a sweater on the chest and back of the Size 16. Thinking a big neck wouldn't be a problem we ordered a size 16. Tight eaters, we ordered a size 14 which didn't fit any of their measurements but was between two 'miss' sizes. This sweater sits comfortably on her body, so we're keeping this one. We've learned that the main problem with sweater sizing is that it suggests small neck sizes mean it's a small dog. or large neck sizes are only found in large dogs. The manufacturer sorted the sweaters by neck size and then added medium and large chest/length options for small neck sizes and sm and med chest/length options for large neck sizes, then the buyers wouldn't have to go through this incredible hassle or frustration with their pet im may have a smaller or larger neck compared to chest girth and body length
