I bought two pairs of New Balance shoes in different styles for my twins - both are different sizes and unfortunately cannot use the same shoes. The shoes were beautiful when we opened them, in fact they were the same as in the photo and my daughter found them comfortable. My girls have many different pairs of shoes and they were only worn occasionally - once or twice a week by a child. They have never been washed or worn in any circumstance other than the elementary school playground. Less than 5 months after purchase, the Girls 455 was in the condition shown in these photos - apart from the holes, these shoes were falling apart at the seams. Other reviews have mentioned that the velcro seams have come loose - this happened to us as well, as the photo shows. Poor quality at a top price. Another pair of New Balances I bought for my other twin were no better. We bought two pairs of Filas to replace and so far they are doing much better. A disappointment for a brand that used to stand for quality.
