By nature, before buying, I studied many options. This decision was based on the following criteria (not in any particular order): Durability - These baskets are very well made and thick. The sides are strong and don't bend. The top ring, which is thicker than the sides, definitely ensures that the basket keeps its shape. The bottom "plate" is thick with 3 thick rubber feet securely attached. Functionality: The baskets are wider than most options, so fruit layering is minimal and bruising is reduced. A set of two baskets allows me to store one temporarily when my supply of fruit runs out, unlike fruit baskets with two (or more) compartments which can look unattractive if not fully utilized. Because the sides are made up of so many wires. , the weight of the fetus is distributed more evenly and, in turn, there is less bruising. Appearance: Simple, modern and understated as many seem to be. I want my fruit to be an attraction, not a basket. Packaging: The protective packaging convinced me just as much as the baskets themselves! Each was wrapped in bubble wrap and then tightly wrapped in plastic. Then one was tucked inside the other to give each support, and both were wrapped in a plastic bag. Some might argue that there is too much packaging associated with a landfill, but having to return and replace products creates more waste in the long run; I know that too well. I will buy from this manufacturer in the future! My review was unsolicited and I received nothing in return. I'm just really happy with my purchase.
