We wanted to broadcast some channels here. We bought it for its size and ability to receive more distant channels (depending on the region and reception conditions, of course). The antenna is very well made. Requires no tools to set up. It opens and has recessed buttons that snap and hold components securely in place. Some components have wing nuts. But the whole antenna came together pretty quickly and without tools out of the box. (Only an adjustable wrench is required to mount/tighten it to a "rod" or other fastener in the desired location). I have installed antennas and satellite dishes many times in the past and I know a good installation will get the job done. and in order not to cause problems, of course, together with a decent and reliable product. Bad reception is often associated with a bad installation. "Something was missed," whether it's the wrong antenna orientation, a bad connection, or in some cases even a TV that doesn't have a decent (or accurate) tuner. However, 1ByOne's roof antenna received all 18 HD. Channels in our areas, most of them south east but some west, and that meant it was placed on a pole about 10 feet off the ground for testing purposes. You can google what channels are near you and get station name, channel, direction and distance. I'll tell you in all honesty, we get every channel my list offered us. We are 65 miles from Canadian HD channels here in Vermont and I doubt we will pick them up with the antenna placed high up near the rooftop as we are in a small canyon but maybe with luck, who knows. I also have a distribution amplifier in the house to feed the cable. It takes the TV signal and amplifies it a bit in all rooms and a few coax connections. You can also buy an antenna mount preamp for your antenna (I didn't need it) to boost reception a bit if you are in a remote area. No, this antenna works very well for me. It is very well made and strong. Nothing seemed unreliable. The metal parts are of course aluminum and light, but the tubular and flat parts are really well made, as is the frame on this one. Even ice, snow and wind shouldn't bother him in terms of damage. If you can find a good survey location (where you position this antenna away from obstructions, metal roofs, etc. and use the best direction for most of the channels you want) and good reliable cabling (using good quality RG6 coax cable) then mount it safely . , I don't think this cheap antenna will disappoint you.
