I am very satisfied with the result. Do I know how I got there? no I would like to see the return percentage of this kit because I was on the verge of giving up and sending it back. I'll try to help if you want to read on. I have a PAL VHS input with AV and it converts to NTSC 1080 on the TV. Really very good, no complaints. I would. 1 - Start your input device, DVD, tape, game, whatever. 2. If you just press the CVBS/HD button, see if a message appears on the bottom left of your TV/Display showing the input and output parameters. for example: AV/PAL input: HDMI output, etc. If you don't get a message, wait a few minutes without frantically pressing the buttons in random order. I'm not sure if this device has some sort of auto-detection logic that takes some time to load. By the way, the instructions are useless. Once I got my I/O message I was able to toggle the CVBS/HD button to get the correct input setting. (AV or HDMI). Touching the other two buttons caused some confusion with the blank screen. I never got mad at this method and in the end decided it worked great. I have my UK 1080p VHS tapes so I leave them alone. Good quality once you start it.
