I needed good headphones to listen to music at work and had a strict list of criteria. I needed something comfortable as I was tired of constantly tugging and twisting the Jaybird X3, which would never stay still and started to hurt after an hour or two; I needed something with a long battery life, at least 8 hours; and it had to be bluetooth. And of course I didn't want to skimp on the sound quality. It was surprisingly difficult to find headphones with all of these features at an affordable price. I've never had a Sennheiser product that I didn't like, so I went with the HD1 IEW and have not been disappointed. First, the sound quality is somewhat subjective, but even among my other Sennheiser products, these are the best sounding headphones I own. I intended to only use it for work, but ended up using it on my PC for music/movies/gaming when appropriate. (There is a downside to this, though, which I'll get to later.) The comfort of both the earbuds and the collar is surprisingly good. I easily forget I'm wearing them, and often someone else will remind me to take them off when I find myself in a situation where they're out of place. Battery life isn't an issue at all - they're rated at 10 hours, and I've never run out of them after an 8.5-hour workday, although it's possible for someone to use the headphones AND the mic for an extended period of time. they may not last as long. I don't often use the HD1 for calls but when I do they work fine and the sound is clearer (on my end) than my iphone and no one seems to hear me. Bluetooth connectivity is as good as anything I've used and works up to 15 meters or so. Some walls can get in the way, depending on what they're made of. I replaced the stock rubber ear cups with foam as I prefer foam and that seems to help with noise cancellation a bit. And finally, in terms of durability, they seem to be holding up well. I often have to tuck an earbud I'm not using into my shirt to keep it from dangling, and I sometimes tuck it between my chest and something I'm wearing, but it wears out just as well and I've been using it for almost a year Year. Really great headphones. One issue I mentioned when using it with my PC was that in some cases the audio would skip or pause every 10-20 seconds. I believe this is only happening because the HD1s are paired to both my PC and iphone and if I forget to disconnect my iphone the PC keeps disconnecting. Disconnecting the HD1 from the iphone *usually* fixes this problem. It could be an issue with Windows 10, my iPhone, or just my own fault, so I'm not willing to bother with the HD1, but it's certainly worth mentioning.
