I use this to rethread gemstone beads, some of which are quite heavy. The thread is simply knotted at the end and can form a loop at the top. After about a week I had no issues with thread stretching or knots falling through the beads. I ordered 0.6mm and for the most part it went through the holes in the sides. There were a few strands where so many beads didn't fit on the thread that I figured it would be better to go with 0.45mm instead. 0.6mm has worked for the most part, and there are so many of these out there that I don't think I'll run out and have to change the coil any time soon. You get a lot, I re-threaded about 30-40 strands of beads and I barely dented the amount of strand I have. And the last thing that's handy is that when you're stringing the beads, you don't have to worry about them unwinding on you. A few loops can sit on the bottom, but the rest of the spool stays nice and tight.
