When I was considering buying this item, the main thing that put me off was that many people wrote in their reviews that the holes were "too small". That was very disconcerting, but since nobody gave actual hole size specs or said how wide the handles of their toothbrushes were that they were trying to put in, there was just no way of telling what they even had. to "too small". The pictures I found on other sites that showed holes definitely didn't look like they were small holes and some of the things some people said led me to suspect that they were actually trying to use electric toothbrushes with theirs insert flared bases into holes and use them to organize different heads for different members of their family. I finally bought it and waited for it to arrive to see if I made a mistake or not. After it arrived and I unpacked it the holes looked fine. As with the various images I've seen on other websites, the holes looked fairly large and generous. I took out one of my toothbrushes and dropped it in one of the holes, glad to see that it fit really well. Out of curiosity, I took a tape measure and measured the holes myself and found that they were very large. 5/8" or (very narrow 11/16). Which isn't "quite small" at all, but actually larger, as you would know if you shopped them and looked like so many of these things. The other two toothbrush holders I bought earlier (as well as the built-in ceramic permanent toothbrush holders in two different bathrooms in the house) were too small for the thicker, round Oral-B toothbrushes I use while they fit perfectly... and with space in them So, for those wondering, with so many people claiming that holes are small, no they are not small at all, easily reaching 5/8" in diameter and slightly larger and work well with manual toothbrushes with large handles such as Oral-B manual toothbrushes have a small plastic plug that seals the opening in the base, just like a salt or pepper shaker, which allows it to be cleaned of dirt and mucus from time to time Menem accumulates very s It's quick and easy to get into, so you can keep it looking beautiful and good in the future. This is a one piece item meaning the top is actually attached and is part of the item and will not come loose. This is a very beautiful, elegant and beautiful piece that goes very well with my yellow double vanity with its brass. Fixtures I have in my upstairs master bathroom. Highly recommended. ;-)
