Review on TomTom START 50M: Your Ultimate 5-Inch GPS Navigator with Lifetime Maps by Ken Kowal

I bought this GPS for a trip to Greece on my honeymoon. In the US I mostly make phone calls, but that wasn't possible on the trip. I didn't use the device at all because although I bought a map of Europe and followed the instructions carefully to make sure it was loaded onto the device correctly (and checked again), it wasn't there when we landed. I'm not actually an IT newbie, so I can generally get things like this right (especially if I follow step-by-step guides). This device was meant to help with travel stress, but instead its inconvenient use left us in a foreign country with a completely different alphabet trying to confuse us. Absolutely unimpressed and not recommended. That's probably great if you never plan on needing a map other than a US map, but since everyone has smartphones these days I don't think it makes much sense. And we've never received a refund for a card we never used. This company just sucks.
