Review on ELMERS All Purpose Glue-All Max, 8 Oz (E9416): Strong and Versatile Adhesive for All Your Projects by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Premium Woodworking Adhesive

This is an excellent woodworking adhesive. It has a longer open time than polyurethane or water-based gorilla wood glue, which is a handy and sometimes important attribute. While shelf life is limited, it can be significantly extended if the product is refrigerated. If it hasn't solidified in the bottle, it will work. To be on the safe side, I do a test seam before use and break it to make sure the glue bond is stronger than the wood. Foaming during cure is an ambiguous phenomenon. If soiled, foaming, which occurs with other adhesives, indicates that sufficient adhesive has been applied to the joint. With practice, you will be able to determine the right amount of adhesive to minimize foaming and still fully bond both surfaces. In general, less glue is required than other types of wood glue. Excess adhesive can be gently sanded or scraped off and will not clog the sandpaper like emulsion based adhesives. This product forms a seam that will not unravel over time. I consider this product indispensable in furniture production.

Takes 24 hours to dry and foams up, leaving excess even with the use of a tiny bit.
