The cost of this led panel compared to local shops is a great savings on your wallet. Walmart has sold their 20" and 30" rods for more than I paid for this rod and the seal around the rod is excellent with no leaks or condensation from late night rides in the rain or snow. No signs of saltwater corrosion and the cooling fins on the back cool the unit down enough that 5 hours of no-wind operation allows it to maintain a controlled temperature. Alligator clips attached to exposed wires and powered by a 12 volt car battery and it works great for what I need compared to a heavy and gas consuming generator. But a few bad things I noticed upon unboxing is that the paint for the mounts was heavily soiled with large lumps on the surface but is still holding up and showing no signs of paint wear. The other issue was the way it was packaged, the wire coming from the back of the unit was pinched on some ribs and had a small cut in the insulation that also severed the positive wire. It was almost halfway through the length so I was lucky enough to cut it, put wires of the same gauge to add length and soldered. Finally, the packaging needs more attention. I understand how the wires are stretched, but the box that came was the same as if someone had left it outside in the rain and taped it shut. The cardboard is very thin and frayed, some packaging foam only in the corners, but nothing in front of the LEDs.
