Review on Panasonic LUMIX G95 Mirrorless Camera: 20.3MP, 5-Axis Dual I.S. 2, 4K Video, V-Log L, Flip-Out Touchscreen by Chris Beals

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pros, cons and advantages of the Panasonic LUMIX G95 (HR).

Pro:__________• The flexible canvas can be easily adjusted to almost any format. You can face the screen outwards or backwards. What I really like is that it feels very solid/stable no matter where you place the screen • This camera's menu system is clear and understandable. I didn't feel overwhelmed when going through the menu. Very organized and not at all intimidating. • Appreciate the three buttons on the top camera for white balance, ISO setting and exposure compensation. Also, each one has a different texture, so over time you'll remember which key you press without even paying attention. Small details matter in the long run. • You can customize almost every camera control to your liking. I haven't played with this feature as it is intended for those who already have a professional shooting system • Autofocus is very fast and accurate Yes. unlimited recording allowed! I heard that in Europe they sell a version that only shoots 30 minutes. This could be an error, but you should know if it's correct (you can also record in 1080 60fps). • Dials and control knobs feel hard and tight. Nothing dangles or dangles from it. • When shooting indoors, I was impressed by how well the auto white balance works. The room I tested in had a warm yellow light bulb. This function solves this problem. • The stabilization is well done with this camera (Dual IS system with 5-axis image stabilization). I know this will be an advantage for those who want to shoot at slower shutter speeds, so lower your ISO. • There is no buffering delay. Saving the image takes about 1 second. • An insane amount of shooting modes. Scene modes, creative effects and 4K photo modes. I try to look through as much as possible but I have to admit it was a little overwhelming. You just have to know that each one is unique and not like the other (many options). • The live composite mode is one of my favorite features of this camera. In short, you take photos and see the exposure on screen as you take the picture. This is great for capturing a streak of light without overexposing the rest of the image. I myself have often used this tool when photographing in the shade (in places with little light). • Thumbs up when you see the camera, built-in microphone and headphone jacks on the side. It sits on top of the camera, which was a great spot to put it as the LCD screen can be moved freely without blocking the microphone jack. • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth do not consume much power. On the other hand, I only activate one of these functions when I transfer pictures to my laptop. Both work well, but the transfer is slightly slower compared to wired or memory card transfer (which is also an option). I find the Bluetooth feature useful for those who want to use the wireless remote control to take photos. • The face and eye recognition works very well. In a crowded mall, he was able to focus squarely on my friend. • Built-in retractable flash. There is no need to buy an extension cord as this flash has many settings depending on the shot. • Easy Touch is the second best mode of this camera. This allows you to use your camera to erase unwanted objects from an image without having to edit it on your computer. For those who use Photoshop or Illustrator, this is a godsend. Don't even use a computer to do this. • If you take multiple pictures at the same time, the camera will prompt you to choose the best one. Note. I've found this to be useful only when photographing people. I suspect that the auto select feature recognizes faces as I've always found the best nature shots with my selections. • Post focus available! For beginners, this means you can change the focus point after the shot. • You can use a mechanical or electronic shutter. The choice is yours • The screen responds instantly and I found it very helpful to use the screen to set the focus point as a guide • Splash and dust resistant design makes this camera a comfortable fit for any hand size. .• The system is designed in such a way that you can operate it with one hand (small and compact). If you are a video blogger then this is the news you have been looking for. • The smartphone app is easy and productive because you can change basic camera settings, press the shutter button and even get the GPS position of your picture. Basically, you can control the camera right on your phone. Note that the app itself isn't the best and you need a constant connection to the camera (which drains the battery) • Extremely well-built fully die-cast magnesium alloy body. The screen itself folds into the camera to prevent scratches • No start-up delay • A decent 0.74x magnification and 100% frame coverage • No need to stand still, this camera will chase you before it's called "Cheese!" Cons and advantages: __________• The battery life is short. Up to 290 shots and then you have to charge it. It has a power saving mode that can take up to 900 shots. With this camera you want to get the best performance without sacrificing quality/performance. I rarely use the power saving feature. • Holding the camera up to your eyes creates problems with the screen underneath. In many cases, it was very easy to swipe your hand across the screen and the originally set focus point was changed. • Micro USB connection (not USB Type-C). It's also pro because you can charge it without changing the battery, but con because it's a micro USB connection. • The electronic viewfinder works indoors in low light, resulting in significantly grainier images. • An ordinary lens at the value you pay is what you should expect with an upgraded lens. This makes this product overpriced in my book. • You can combine multiple images into an action frame. I have no idea why you only film it with one camera (it's literally the exact same function). • The Micro Four Thirds sensor is small for the camera's comfort, but doesn't seem to compromise performance. • A memory card slot. There are no upgrade options • Right out of the box, some shots were slightly exposed. You can easily fix this problem, but be aware when you first turn it on • Note that the sensor is smaller, but that doesn't penalize it. However, one should be aware that there are some competitors (like Sony) that have cameras with larger sensors and more megapixels for the same money. • I noticed that some of them affect the in-camera noise level at higher ISO speeds • The Panasonic Lumix G80 will still be on the market. For G80 users, this is a minimal upgrade, so spend your money on lenses instead. Conclusion: __________ Camera viewing is always difficult because the end result is what "you” see in the photo/video. It's the same as buying a car or a house. You have to test it yourself before you say "Yes, I'll buy it". This is necessary if you don't really understand the mechanics of the camera, as there might be something about this camera that doesn't suit you. But if I have to generalize, this is a great camera, suitable for all beginners. and pluses. The software is well made and compact enough to fit in a backpack. I see it more for vloggers, but for those in the sports world who need 4k 60fps, this camera doesn't have it. A simple menu layout that makes it easy for beginners, plus debt settings and modes that make the pro feel right at home. Conclusion: not the best in everything, but really good in everything. I hope I helped you. Much love, honest reviewer.
