Review on Adidas Originals X_PLR Clear Brown Boys' Shoes by John Swain

X_PLR in "Simple Brown " is actually lighter than in the picture

I was looking for a stylish nude shoe and these Adidas X_PLR shoes in "Simple Brown" really suit me favor . I usually wear women's Adidas Ultraboosts in size 7 and ordered Big Kid in size 6. They ran a little larger than I would have liked, but I kept the shoes because I didn't want the hassle of returning them and getting a half size smaller. I really liked the color in the photos, it looked more like purple, but when I received the shoes they were actually more beige than purple. It's still a nice nude just not with a pink undertone like in the picture. In addition, the fabric on the toes seems a bit thin, so that you can see the outlines of the foot and how my toes move in shoes. It's still a good shoe so I kept it. I think if I took a smaller size and the color was more accurate than the photo it would be perfect. **After purchasing the shoe and carefully comparing it to two other X_PLRs I bought directly from Adidas, I noticed that there is no elastic to hold the tongue in place. 2 more (1 children's size and 1 men's size), both have an elastic band. So it seems strange to me that this pair has no elastic. It could be a specific season, they left out the elastic, or maybe since the colorway is completely nude, it could be a special/limited edition of X_PLR that was actually made without a rubber strap. I think only Adidas can tell if it's real Adidas or not. I personally prefer elastic shoes to hold the tongue in place because it's annoying when the tongue moves. I hope these are really real Adidas and again I will keep them anyway because I love these shoes lol.
