Plenty of room for a laptop, lots of other stuff, power adapters, mouse, external hard drives, cables, books, laptops etc. Sturdy construction and seems very durable with daily use for a very large college campus for a month as described above. It has some dead weight so you need to factor that into the total load you will be carrying. But the strap is thick and very comfortable with swivel mounts so it never twists or tangles. A big improvement over my previous bag which I thought was a good bag until I bought this Emissary bag. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is that the bag can use additional foam protection at the bottom of the laptop compartment, but foam or even corrugated cardboard can be added "after sale". However, I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money. I would definitely buy it again.
