High quality durable and reliable construction!

First of all, this thing is a lot stronger and better made than I expected. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The design deviates slightly from the typical use case for this TV mount, although I didn't have to change it. My home gym in the basement has a large wall mounted TV on one end. I also have a couple of couches for watching games and the UFC that were next to the TV before quarantine. When lockdown hit, the sofas were moved to the other end of the home gym to make room for Zoom sessions and more space for adults and children to work out together. We needed a mid-ceiling mounted TV that could be tucked away for easy viewing from the sofas and overhead when using the room for family workouts. It would also be helpful if the TV could rotate to cover a corner for weight machines for big meetings with my wife's strength coach. I say "need" but it's definitely a low priority, it's nice to be able to have quarantine leave. I aligned all the electronics but needed a ceiling mount that would allow the TV to rotate 360 degrees and either detach easily or fold perfectly. up to the ceiling. After researching my options, I found this surprisingly well-made ceiling mount. When I received it I was immediately impressed by its design and quality. That's more than I expected. Actually I expected that I would have to change it to make it work. I didn't need to change it at all beyond its existing capabilities. I removed the bolt that was preventing it from folding and moving (it's meant to be hung at an angle or attached horizontally with a tie bolt to hold it in place). I wanted it to move freely. I put the bolt back into the channel on the outside of the pipe to keep the pipe from "pulling out" (so it could flip up toward the ceiling, fall down, and stop at a 90 degree angle). I added the lightest 32" Smart TV screen I could find and a pneumatic closer that attached to the ceiling and screwed into one of the height adjustment holes. I also added a clip to hold the TV up to the ceiling in the storage position. I don't consider a closer or clamp a modification to the mount itself. This mount wasn't specifically designed for this use, but it almost felt like it was made for it. Now we can remove the TV from the ceiling, unclip the clip and rotate it to watch the game or watch on the couch. to keep the kids entertained while we train. We can rotate the TV to schedule meetings from our phone, or watch YouTube or other workouts on the smart TV from the weight panel. When we do a family workout and need all the space, we can attach the clip and mount this TV on the ceiling again. If you're hosting a large meeting instead of TVs, as an added bonus when this is stacked, you'll have wall and ceiling views. There are some adjustments I'd still like to make, such as a way to get the TV off the ceiling and a smoother, tighter drop that a pneumatic closer can't offer. It wants to be folded, so you need to install a stopper to hold it. I envisioned a cable/winch or some sort of drive system that could be connected to smart home functions and controlled from a phone. The quarantine period is not enough for that! Other than that, it was a fun quarantine project that worked out exactly how I envisioned it. :-)Love it!
