It's great that it takes the place of rechargeable alkaline batteries that are user replaceable

I've had over forty combination emergency lighting night lights from different brands over the years. All but this GE model use built-in batteries, which are essential. It would be great not to have to replace the battery, but all those rechargeable batteries seemed short-lived. Only the Energizer brand seemed better, but their design wasn't appealing. Battery reliability is vital as we want the emergency lighting to work on the rare occasions when the power goes out, e.g. B. in the event of a fire, an earthquake or simply a power failure. The fact that these rechargeable batteries are unreliable seriously affects the performance of these emergency lights. I like this GE flashlight because it uses alkaline batteries and you can periodically replace them if you suspect they've gone bad. The box contains Energizer MAX bulbs, which are said to last 10 years, so you probably won't need to replace them for a long time. Some reviewers feel that the emergency lights and/or night light are not bright enough. I think they are spot on. 40 lumens are enough for emergencies and the battery doesn't run out that quickly. The night light is not too bright to be disturbing. Brightness just right. I highly recommend it.
