Review on OXO Grips Glass Sugar Dispenser: Organize & Dispense Sugar with Ease! by Rich Ferguson

Water gets stuck in the lid!

The problem with this sugar dispenser is that when you wash it, water gets between the two parts of the lid, plastic and stainless steel, and wets the sugar!Of course I washed the sugar dispenser before use and dry it. The air in my apartment is dry, so it struck me as odd that the sugar became lumpy and looked damp around the sink. I dried it out and tried again and got the same results. After researching I found that the 4 tiny slits in the lid allow water to seep in between the plastic and stainless steel and it stays there for a very long time. (See my photos.) I see in the comments that many people have repeatedly washed the lid to get rid of the clumps around the spout, but this only makes the problem worse when the lid is re-wetted. It's a nice sugar dispenser, but it's a real problem. But I think if you never submerge the lid in water and just rub it lightly, it shouldn't be a problem.
