What this lantern IS NOT: It is NOT a simple signaling device for regular use. I have worked in the emergency services for 15 years and have come across many advanced LED technologies used in ambulances. If you're expecting this light to match every LED technology or brightness you see on police cars, ambulances, or fire trucks, you'll be disappointed. This light is noticeable but not as noticeable as the main warning device should be. The magnets are only meant to last up to 45 mph. I believe that's true. So don't buy this with the intention of using it for regular use in a road vehicle. What its light is: It's an extremely affordable, compact and lightweight device that, given the cost, provides amazingly bright illumination for emergencies. . This light is by no means dim, it just isn't bright enough for normal daytime use. I only bought this light for roadside breakdowns as we travel a lot. I wanted something I could easily store away when not in use. That fits the bill perfectly. LEDs are visible in sunlight but don't stand out like high quality light sources. In overcast or dark conditions, the intensity is more than enough to warn other motorists, and that's where this light excels. The processing quality corresponds to its purpose. The lightning patterns are excellent and random enough to break the predictable pattern that draws more attention from motorists. The cable is long and flat. It keeps your last selected template in memory. Contrasting white and amber colors go well together. Overall this lamp deserves a solid 4 stars for its value and purpose. It's bright enough for casual emergency use, but it's not the ideal tool for towing, plowing, or road building. If you're good at it, then this tiny flashlight is worth the money!
